At Warner Bros. Animation I worked on Watchmen: Chapter I and II (2024) as a visual development artist. I painted backgrounds, textures, designed and painted props, created graphics, VFX and sky textures.

I was tasked with creating some texture tutorials to help the team and the vendor studio.

I was lucky enough to work as a freelance artist doing some Background painting on this multiple award winning short "Flocky".

For a test, I took on the task of making a Batman style Background. Researching the methods used and history behind the original Batman the Animated series, I learned that their inspiration was Fleischer's Superman Animations, who in turn was inspired by the futuristic drawings by Hugh Ferriss.

This was a fun piece where I took the story of "the Princess Bride" and added a Zootopia style over it. The Top is when Westley catches up with Princess Buttercup and Vizzini to have a battle of wits!

Future City was an unofficial test that called for a Jean Giraud "Mobius" look in a futuristic LA. I love the mobius look, I love watercolors, and I love LA, so this just screamed fun. I even took the train to downtown LA and shot a lot of reference images.

Fulltime - Adult Swim | Get Jiro
Worked with Art Director Jonathan Hoekstra, production and other artists in conceptualizing designs in layout and props. I was the show's “swiss army knife” filling in where needed to maintain the shipping schedule. I would create 3D models of environments, props, paint flats and light on BGs, and props sheets in the style direction of the show. (a really cool watercolor paint with Jean Gerard (Mobius) ink line work)
Freelance - Phantom Legion Games | TBA Games
Collaborated with the Director and art team in developing concept images meant to inform development of world building. 3D modeling and painting directors ideas through various design iterations.
Warner Bros Animation - DC | Watchmen Chapter 1 & 2
Partnered with the Art Director and production team in painting flats for texture info for the vendor studio. Painted Color keys for vendor studio to reference for lighting. Created 3d Props for use and reference. Painted prop pages for texture info. Matte paintings for various weather situations and lighting. Made multiple graphics for signage and various elements.
Zoetrope LLC | Flocky Animated Short
Partnered with the Art Director to paint a sequence in the short that consisted of twelve different shots. Learned the style of the short that the previous painter had started. Maintained the color story the director has set up while utilizing brushes made specifically for the show. Maintaining file naming and organization of PSD layers.
